LANDSCAPE ARTISTS & GARDEN CRAFTS:
:: Heather Boardman - garden designer. In 2002 Heather was approached by Country Living magazine to create
"A Country Living Garden for an Urban Space". The garden was awarded a Gold Medal by the Royal Horticultural Society and won Best in Show. In 2003 she created a garden for
Laura Ashley and won another R.H.S. medal, gaining national press coverage. Heather also writes a weekly newspaper column, and is a member of The Garden Writers Guild.

maker of large-scale figurative water-features and statues.
:: Phil Hardaker - a mosaic maker
from Stoke.
:: Johanna Hallsten
- creates subtle artistic interventions in gardens. Based in Stoke-on-Trent.
:: Sue Blatherwick -
creates ceramic outdoor wall-plates, and is also a site-specific environment-artist. Based
in Leek.
:: Echomap - the sound artist duo of Shaun Bailey and Clive Mollart.
Shaun & Clive created the interactive 'Sound Wall' at the Royal Horticultural Society's 2010 Tatton show, and this structure
was later re-built at Stoke's Trentham Gardens where it still runs today. The duo are currently making new experimental interactive sound sculptures.
:: Bespoke Birdhouses - a crafts business run by Nigel Green who is based at Stone, near Stoke-on-Trent.
In 2012 Nigel created his "Peckingham Palace" bird-house for the Queen's Golden Jubilee, which was showcased around the British Isles by the sponsors Cuprinol.
:: Kate Lynch - environmental and folklore artist based in Stoke town.
:: David Bethell. David creates work that... "explores the relationship between
nature and urban environments, ranging from the objects to the characteristics that can be found within these spaces".
:: Redstone Willows - located on the Cheshire / Staffordshire border, they grow in excess of 100 varieties of willow,
many of which are ideal for basketry, earth-art sculptures and community arts structures.
They also run workshops, can can install living-willow structures and make willow sculptures on commission.
:: Sensory Trail Design - provides
a design and build service for sensory labyrinths and trails, and a design service for music therapy or sound gardens is also available.
:: Nicola Jane Hulme - a specialist tile designer/maker working from Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent.
Church Wall Gargoyles
- based in Cheadle. Creator of the statues at the Alton Towers Hotel
and stone carvings in Ugland & Alice in Wonderland at Alton Towers.
Church Wall also run classes at The Potters Barn.

in Willow Sculpture. Several F.E. Colleges in Staffordshire offer a Diploma in Garden Design.
