Rock & pop bands (touring): Venues for touring bands in & around Stoke are: Britannia Stadium (very occasional large
'big name' concerts such as Elton John); The Sugarmill (400 capacity); Staffordshire University SU
(1700 capacity, but NUS card needed for entry);
The Underground in Hanley;
The Glebe in Stoke town;
The Rigger in Newcastle-under-Lyme;
Keele University (1500 capacity? - enough to host the Pet Shop Boys and The Levellers in recent years);
Queen's Theatre, Burslem (1300 capacity); and the
King's Hall in Stoke town.
Country Music: Bidds is a large country music venue in Longton, Stoke.
Another is Drovers in Hanley.

We have around 220 bands and singers in & around Stoke who work with original material. Sadly, Creative Stoke doesn't have the resources to keep up with
the fast-moving local gig/band scene and their ever-changing website addresses. Thankfully, Upstart maintains (at 2007)
